The Last Of Us: Damage and Health System

Newly unveiled information about the upcoming title; The Last Of Us has surfaced. News about the game’s damage and health system has been revealed following a German magazine article.

The-Last-of-Us-22It’s said that players will have to take extra care when playing are hero Joel. He will boast hit detection; meaning players will be able to detect any injury. The example given is that if you’re shot in the left arm, you’ll need to use your right arm to hold the wound to help prevent him from bleeding out. Players will also need to treat the wound my means of items found either on the ground or in cabinets scattered around the game.

Joel’s injuries goes beyond just treating them. Joel will face not being able to use heavy weapons like a shotgun or when shot in the leg, be able to run until he has fully recovered from his wounds. Ammunition is a extremely rare, so blindfire won’t be a feature in The Last of Us. Melee combat will most likely be the best way to handle confrontations with enemies.

The Last of Us is due out on PlayStation in June. Also remember to catch the demo coming May 2013.
