Ster Kinekor invited us to the launch of the highly anticipated first-person shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines developed by Gearbox in collaboration with publishing company SEGA.
The launch took place at Ster-Kinekor Office Park in Sandton on January 31st, 2013 where we were welcomed by smoke machines and dim lighting which really created the perfect atmosphere for Aliens: Colonial Marines. After a few snacks we made our way over to the Ster Kinekor Preview theatre were the Product/Brand Manager for Ster Kinekor Entertainment gave us an insightful overview on the Aliens movie series and how gearbox really focused on incorporating that unique feel of the movies we all know so well into the upcoming title, Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Jim Dyer from SEGA also joined us by taking us through a bit of the game, explaining some of the features and what we can expect from this thrilling title. The excitement didn’t stop there as ps3blog.co.za got to get some hands on with Aliens: Colonial Marines on the PS3 and let me tell you we were not disappointed. Gameplay was quite exciting, with aliens running through corridors and the ceiling to the chilling sound the xeno’s make in the background that we are all so familiar with in the Aliens movies. With only a small amount of gameplay, I must admit, I had quite a lot of fun.
We just want to send out a special thank you to the team at Ster Kinekor for making this event possible and inviting ps3blog.co.za. to join in on the action.
Be sure to pre-order Aliens: Colonial Marines to secure your copy of the game which will be releasing February 12th, 2013.
