So this past Wednesday was the start of the China Joy game event in Beijing and Sony Computer Entertainment flew Kazunori Yamauchi in for a signing and press Q&A during a Gran Turismo event. He was asked questions concerning the future plans he has for the series and weather the new version will come out a little quicker and if there will be a Vita version as well.
Yamauchi said that work for Gran Turismo 6 started as soon as Gran Turismo 5 was finished. In reference to GT6, he also stated, “We’re always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression.” When later asked about the possibility of a Playstation Vita adaptation of the beloved series, Yamauchi replied, “If we were to make it, we’d like to make use of the ability to play anywhere and the ability to use 3G at any time.”
It was also asked if there were any plans to include mod-like functionality in Gran Turismo 5 in the future. Yamauchi responded, “If we can find a good balance, we’d like to increase the areas where users can make modifications.”
The next day, Yamauchi visited the Shanghai Circuit in search of inspirational elements to possibly include in Gran Turismo 6.
