PlayStation Plus Subscribers Get Protection Plan Discount

Posted on 26. Aug, 2010 by in News, PSN Network

Protection plans for PlayStation 3 can now be purchased via the PSN Store. PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase a two-year extended console warranty for what the masses must spend for only one year. This means that if you are a PlayStation Plus member you will get a 25% discount and get two years instead of one. With a little less than three months in the books, PlayStation Plus continues to evolve giving gamers an excellent set of content and features for their PlayStation 3.

I’m not 100% sure weather this is only for members in the US or for any Plus member. I will check into it and see what I find. I didn’t see any option while logging into the EU PSN store last night. Anyway in the mean time see the price below as well as a small little catch.

Plus price $44.99, (original price $59.99) Considering the PS3 one year plan is $44.99, PLUS members get two years for the price of one! In order to qualify for any of the plans, your PlayStation 3 must still be within its one-year original manufacturer’s warranty.

Considering most of the new ps3 consoles don’t die that easy this seems like a money making scheme from sony while shafting the guys with phats but still peace of mind for another 2 years for slim owners at R350 is not bad.
