Firmware bypass no longer working?

Well, this all started a few weeks back with the announcement of the removal of the “Other OS” support removal from the PS3 with the latest Firmware update. There was a high amount of outcries from PS3 owners claiming that this was wrong on Sony’s part as they sold them systems advertising this feature and then removing it after customers purchased the product. Many say that Sony jumped the horse in removing the feature over security concerns after a Hacker claimed and released details on a PS3 hack.
Not to get into too many details, Sony went through with the removal of the feature on April 1st 2010 with Firmware update 3.21, and since then, gamers have been pondering over whether to update and lose the feature, or to tough it out and see what the future holds. Many though, used a bypass such as “the the fake DNS method, as well as using proxy programs that would tell the server that the current firmware was up to date or rewrite the packet itself whilst being on the old Firmware.
Now however, it seems as though the back door has been shut as many complain over these methods not working anymore as you will see in the video below. So where to for these gamers? Well either update or lose out it would seems… Unless GeoHot’s plans for a custom firmware release are realized. Source
