MW2 map pack, is it worth it?

Now, Infinity Ward didn’t make any friends on the release of the huge game Call of duty: Modern warfare 2 over the price hike of the game. So naturally, gamers would think that IW would go a little more gently on the price of the map packs. However, according to Robert Bowling, the new map pack due for the xbox 360, and shortly thereafter (we hope) for the ps3 and pc, which includes 5 maps, will go on sale for 1200 MS points. That price, generally relates to a value of $15.

Now, many are up in arms about this, but lets cast our minds back a bit. If I’m not mistaken, this price is roughly the same as we saw the COD4 map pack for, which only contained 4 new maps. So to my mind, the price of this map pack is reasonable. Having said that though, we do live in a country where we’re use to having such high prices for games, so maybe I’m being a little narrow minded.

Then again, you can basically buy a full game these days for the price of one map pack, so to my mind, a silly map pack that costs R100+ is just not worth it. Why can’t IW just give back to it’s loving community who have supported them by lowering the price, especially when rivals offer free content to go along with premium content? At the end of the day though, I suppose we’ll all be drawn into buying it though, just to fuel our addiction, and this is what IW plans on. Is $15 for a map pack worth it? Source

Historically $15.00 for DLC wouldn’t be to bad but looking back on all the crap IW has put us through with MW2 I believe that price is to much. Also there is no definte date on the release on the Ps3? IW can suck it!
