PhyreEngine announced for PSP

For those who have no idea what this is all about, it’s rather simple. PhyreEngine is an advanced graphics rendering engine used by developers on a number of Blu-Ray disc based games, as well as many games which you can download off the PSN store. Some games that use this technology are Dirt 1, Racedriver: Grid, Burn Zombie Burn, Flower, and many other games. This might not sound all that great to many gamers out there, but I for one feel that it will be a very good addition to the PSP arsenal for developers in making better games.
“We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community,”
“PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.”

PhryeEngine for the PSP and a game demo “Tunnel Vision” will be on display all week at the SCE booth at GDC. So for now all we can do is wait on it and see the end results as no other info has come out of this and whether it’s any good whatsoever. The main thing to remember though, is at least the PSP, which is sometimes overlooked despite the rather large userbase, is that steps are always being taken to improve it. Source
