Battlefield 2 getting day one DLC

It’s not everyday you actually see any game ever getting downloadable content one release day. In fact, games barely ever get any DLC within it’s first month or two which makes this so special. We may be talking about nothing really serious here in terms of content as I’d doubt DLC from day one will be very big, but it’s something extra to look forward to at least. Back in the day, Battlefield BC got 2 freebie DLC’s, however DICE is planning for more this time around including freebies, but also premium content.

“We see the game as the first step to a longer experience. We have an in-game store where you get free content or you can buy new content to the game, so it’s a very integral part of the game that we will have a long post-launch campaign,” said senior producer Patrick Bach in an interview with WorthPlaying. “I think people will be thrilled to see what’s in that already. On day one, you will get some really cool stuff.”

Battlefield Bad Company 2 hits US shelves March 2nd followed by Europe 3 days laterm so expect DLC from these regions to hit on these dates as well. Now there’s something to look forward to. Source
