Zombieland Blu-ray Includes a Dynamic Theme

Posted on 27. Jan, 2010 by in Blu-Ray, News

This is a very clever marketing strategy, for Blu-ray and even Sony. Yes we all know how awesome Blu-rays are and how even more awesome the PS3 is. But doing things like this will make consumers look more towards the Blu-ray version  purchase over a DVD. You see I will only buy Blu-ray movies if I know that the video and audio quality are great, and if I really enjoyed the movie of course, but there are still some movies that I would like to have but don’t mind having them on DVD.

But knowing that the Blu-ray version will have something that I can use on my PS3, well that will tilt the scale for me and I’m sure others as well. It started with the District 9 Blu-ray where it included the demo for God of War 3. And now the Blu-ray version of Zombie Land will come with a Dynamic theme for the PS3. When you pop it in you’ll have the option to download a dynamic theme based on the film through the XMB’s Game tab. The theme turns the browser’s icons red, and changes the background into a rotating gallery of promotional art for the movie. News Source.

GOW demo is not included on the PAL release of District 9 (got the blu-ray). Damn the US gets the demo on a SA movie, just unfair…

What I have discovered and I have not seen reported anywhere yet is the blu-ray version of the movie Quarentine (spelling?). I hired it in DEC from the local video shop and found a theme on the disc.

It was a crappy RE theme (the animated movie), but heck if it’s free, why not?

Blu Ray FTW! And I’m sure the GOW Demo IS included in the District 9 Blu-ray (from Kalahari.net) I got it and it’s there…

But what the heck, District 9 is still soooooo worth it, and it’s a start
