Firmware 3.10 lets you Report Errors Directly to Sony

I am sure by now we all know that with the release of firmware that there are always some hidden enhances, weather they are bug fixes, or security fixes. But with the release of the latest firmware Sony has included a pretty handy feature, and this is that if something happens you can report the error directly to Sony from your console.
Weather they get back you you is a whole other story but this will at least give Sony an idea of what is happening and they can start with fixes for these problems. I’m sure a lot of uses who have received this error code 80010514 may find this handy.
Joystiq managed to brick a console and got hold of Sony and a spokesperson told them that, yes, firmware 3.10 does add a feature to the console where users can report issues following console freezes and the like. So, now you know! Now to get the trophy sync error fixed. News Source.

not just trophies – live streaming on the browser seems to have been disabled. certainly on zshare and netflix anyway. bit of a bum, as when im not gaming im streaming. anyone else got similar probs?

When the drive even reads a disc, I kept getting the infamous 80010514 error of death with games (CoD MW2) continually freezing up at random disc read times, like initial boot up or map loading screens. I did a system restore and the PS3 came back with: “The harddrive was corrupted and will be restored.” After restore, no better. Sony wants my $150 for a new BD drive.

i tried it it still won’t play ps3 games everything else it plays ps2, ps1,cd’s,dvd’s it costs for the lens replacemement 52.00 sony wants 178.00

This won’t really matter cause sony will prolly still ask you for $ to repair your ps3.

After going through many many troubleshooting steps found in every forum, youtube, and google searches I came to the conclusion that to get it sorted it will cost in the UK £131. Reported today (friday) will get the replacement on Tuesday with a new warranty of 3 months. That’s how they rule unfortunately. I couldnt be arsed to replace anything myself and I won’t lose any purchased content. Just need to de-actiavate my account on this console now and re-activate it on the replacement console. Pain in the arse TBH but what can one do…

iv’e had my ps3 for 3 months and i get this crap its my 2nd ps3 i have 42 games iv’e had the xbox ring of death make a console that lasts u bunch of money grabing basterd

So what your telling me is that the error code 80010514 is basically a death sentence for timing with use of a disc on the ps3?
Even paying almost two thirds of replacement cost does not guarentee a solid fix?

my first ps3 the 60gb model the one with the flap and the memory card slots i had it for 4 months it broke down i bought it from Argos but i lost my receipt , waited for the ps3 slim but i would wait a few months before buying it just to make sure they is no big fault with them, so i took the plunge and bought one because this would be my third next generation console the first was a xbox 360 that was a joke because it only lasted two weeks, i paid cash for the consoles i have just mentioned, this time i got the ps3 slim from littlewoods catalog and i was bullied into getting a extra 3 years guarantee the order was around £700 i was told if it broke down i would get a replacement in a matter of days this was 15/02/2010 – on the 22/05/2010 i got the error code 80010514, i contacted littlewoods and they give me a special phone no to ring and who do you think answered it SONY i explained what had happened and they asked for the consoles serial numbers my name were i bought it and when i bought it and i was told by sony it was littlewoods responsibility to repair the console, and littlewoods say it is for sony to fix it , i contacted sony again but i was told they have no records of my ps3 slim no serial numbers NOWT… littlewoods wont take the console back because i stopped paying for it when they said its not there problem. i owe around £1000 and they are still charging money every month. i think both company’s should be ashamed of themselves my doctor is prescribing SERTRALINE medication for me its for depression, i have not left my house or opened my front door from july 2010 thats around 14 months because i have been threatened with the bailiffs my best friend has my key and buys all my shopping, there is one solution to the problem but i have not got the bottle for it…
