Rumor: Next PS3 Firmware with Facebook Integration
Posted on 12. Nov, 2009 by Freak_c in News, Rumours
The Internet has just gone a bit madder with regards to some leaked images that hint at a possible new firmware update. With this new update and images, which were believed to be leaked from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, it seems as though users will be able to manage their Facebook profiles right from the XMB in your PlayStation Network account settings, changing the color of your PlayStation Network gamercard and a new, more sufficient way of looking through your photos.
Mark this as a rumour for now but they seem pretty legit and reasonable. Check out the images below. News Source.

Do we really need a link to Facebook on our PS3s? I mean I already have it on my PC … and I can easily go there from my PS3 via the internet browser.

I think it’s a stupid idea… I wish they’d give the option to install instead of have it there by default. I hate facebook enough as it is already, I use the console to play games and kill my friends, not interact with them through social networking… That’s what a microphone is for
