Modern Warfare 2 Third person view confirmed

Lately, there’s been a lot of chit chat on the web about a video showing a possible mode where players can play in a 3rd person perspective as opposed to the traditional FPS type of play that Call of Duty franchise is accustomed to. Having said that, no one was sure of the exact details of whether it was just spectator mode, or if players could choose between FPS and TPS modes. Well, it has been confirmed, but sceptics can breathe a sigh of relief that it is only a mode available in private matches, and Modern Warfare 2 will remain a FPS.
According to Robert Bowling, Infinity Wards community manager, Modern Warfare 2 will in fact contain a third person mode available in private matches only. “It’s not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game,” Once initiated, it will force that view on all players in that private match until the next match. He added that this will be “another cool way to play the game,” and that you will “still have the option to play gametypes normal as well.”
So we can all relax and breathe easy as there were worries about a TPS perspective ruining the game outright. At least it adds to the game a mode where more people can enjoy adding variation to an already awesome looking game. Roll on Modern Warfare 2!!! Source

i don’t understand why that feature is even being put in as an option… the game’s core business is fps, it works perfectly and is what they specialize at.
if its not broken, don’t fix it.
