PS3 getting cross-title voice chat in October???

One of the largest luxuries that XBL users have over PSN users, and that has been requested by thousands of online PSN gamers is cross game chat. There were rumours for Firmware 3.0 which included this, which fell flat on it’s face, and that wasn’t the first time. However, the rumours are coming again, and we can never really look over it, but rather be hopeful.
A VG247 said today that Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October.
The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.
Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 – looks like Sony’s ready to deliver.
Now what you’ll probably wonder, is why gamers would care for this? You don’t want to be playing Grid online listening to the Viscari preeching for the Helghan while your buddy is jamming Killzone 2 online, or for any other game it holds true. However, one thing is key for this ability, and XBL users do it well. We all know some games have horrible in game communication. You don’t hear certain guys talking, or you get static, or just plain poor communications. We know this for a fact to be true with at least Battlefield and Killzone 2, however, cross game chat allows players to use that communication medium instead of the in-game comms allowing for clear voice communication, quite clever, and very much needed.
