Uncharted still freezing on FW 3.01?

So we all saw and commented on firmware 3.0 being the cause of freezing games like Uncharted as well as another few bugs. However, it seems like the latest firmware (optional) hasn’t solved the issue according to some who’s games still freeze. Sony have been known to fix firmware due to bugs soon after the release of new firmware in the past and this was no different.
However, one thing puzzles me. I have firmware 3.0 (not bothering with 3.01) and I have finally put my uncharted in my console and boy what everyone says is true, it’s a fantastic game. However, after playing about 8-10 hours straight, the game only freezed at one point where a lot was happening during gameplay.
Now correct me if I’m wrong, but if it’s really a bug, wouldn’t it affect those certain games for all who play it, not just a few? And if this firmware supposedly fixed the issues, why are some of those same people still having issues? Check the back of your discs lately? Source

Hmmmm. I smell epic fail, but on Sony’s side, Naughty Dog’s or the people experiencing the freezing?
Personally I’ve had lots of games freeze on me, even before 3.0. Prince of Persia, Fallout 3, Uncharted, Infamous…

I completed Uncharted last week (Firmware 3.0) without a single freeze. I have upgraded to 3.01 but have not tested Uncharted again.

Has anyone on this site found any game freezing including Uncharted because I started playing Ol Drake yesterday and played for about 2 hours and no freezing and the same goes for other games and this was with 3.0 or I just one of the lucky ones?

i’ve no issues after the update either, so i’m holding thumbs that is continues that way.
nor do i know of anyone who has had an issue with the update.

Just finished it yesterday and I had no issues whatsoever… I always like to think people use excuses about why this or that doesn’t work, or that my console is bricked, due to firmware

I never had any problems with my PS3 Firmware updates until now. I’ve just updated to the 3.01 Firmware and now the game Unreal Tournament 3 keeps freezing. I wish I hadn’t updated to 3.01 and there’s no way of going back to an earlier Firmware. Thanks Sony – NOT!

hi guys i was playing uncharted for around 2 hours and i was up to t hr bit where you start running away from those retarted looking creatures and it froze i restarted my ps3 and it started playing well, lol also how long is this game im up to chapter 16

Lucky you, when my system was 3.00 the game kept freezing every 15~25 minutes, now with 3.01 can’t play for 10 minutes :/

I was playing Uncharted with 3.00 and the game was consistently freezing, and completely unplayable. I upgraded to 3.01 and it hasn’t frozen since, but I’ve only played for a little over an hour.

I borrowed Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune from a friend, the first time I played it, I must’ve played for about 1 hour, then I hit the part where their was a cutscene with the plane crashing, it froze, I thought it was a simple overheating probably. ITS NOT, IT FROZE FOR THE NEXT 20 TIMES I PUT IT IN, then I tried this retarded trick where you start a new game on easy (keeping your other save data) and for some reason it worked, but be aware it does not work every time it freezes. I’m updating the PS3 to 3.01 as I speak. Hope it works.

I played through Uncharted: Drakes Fortune in Crushing mode on 3.0 without a problem (Wanted the platinum before starting with Uncharted 2). Did not frees even once. Only recently updated to 3.01 because Borderlands required it.

I finished the game on version 3.15 without any freezing.
But playing multiplayer it constantly freezes for a couple of seconds exactly like this:

Its apparently due to the way the game handles lag… Really sucks because always happens when you are about to kill someone then they kill you! Unplayable IMO…
