The Tony Hawk Ride’s Board in Action

Have you also played the Tony Hawk games wishing that you could actually be playing and controlling your skater via an actual board? Well this new peripheral for the new Tony Hawk game, Ride, will allow you to do just that, sort of. Check out the video below where Mike Snider from USA Today has a go at it and gets some techno lingo about the board from developer Robomodo’s Josh Tsui such as dual accelerometers.

“Inside are two accelerometers, and that gives us our tilting for navigation, our lifting on either side for doing things like ollies and nollies, and then it also gives us rotation. One accelerometer will give us the tilting and the lift, but having two of them allows us to read two different settings, two different rotations so that this way it allows us this type of skating mechanic. That’s something that a lot of peripherals have never done before, is the rotation and the popping.” News Source.

Looks pretty cool. But I dunno if I can stomach another Tony Hawk game.
They were fun up until number 3, but its the same formula over and over again.
