Recent New Features of PS3Blog

Posted on 07. Mar, 2009 by in News, Video

I’ve been meaning to put together a video explaining the recent new features and changes to PS3Blog. So if your new or unfamiliar with this site or just got time to kill check out the video below.

Oh yes something I didn’t include in the video which is highly important, is the option for you guys to share PS3Blog’s content across the interweb. If you like a post or article Please click on the “tweet button” or “ShareThis button” seen in the image below.

Example of "tweet" and "shareThis buttons

As you can see in the image to the left of the advertising banner is a “tweet button”. Have you heard of tweetmeme.com? If you haven’t I suggest going and having a look (one of my fav websites @ the mo). Firstly you have to have a twitter.com account. twitter is a great way of getting instant info on your favorite websites and keeping in contact with them. We on PS3Blog publish all our posts on twitter.com and follow many major gaming sites in the world. So what’s this tweetmeme.com and how is this linked to the “tweet button”

Yes the “tweet button” is indeed linked to tweetmeme.com. Tweetmeme.com is basically a site that lists the popular buzz on the internet via twitter.com. So in a nutshell the more people that click the “tweet button” the more that post most will climb on tweetmeme.com, and more people will come visit PS3Blog.co.za, makes sense? So once you have clicked on the “tweet button” it will open up your twitter.com and then you publish it on your twitter. Man this is confusing trying to explain all this haha. Then when you’ve published it to your twitter all your followers will see the link and come visit PS3Blog and if more n more people retweet it, it will climb on tweetmeme.com and we’ll get tons of traffic. Sound good? Support us!

Example of "ShareThis button" expanded

Moving on… You see the “ShareThis button” just below the advertising banner on the left side? If click on that it will open a box to all your favourite social networking sites. If you have the time please share some of the interesting posts on PS3Blog.co.za. It generates traffic, and by us generating traffic it means we can get bigger sponsors. Bigger sponsors means better awesome thangs for the site… so it’s a win win! Okay I hope I explained that properly. Make sure to bookmark Tweetmeme.com it’s truly an awesome website and a great much of guys running it and go create a twitter.com account and follow us. If your even more confused than when you started, drop me a comment below and I’ll try explain some more.

Hey Spider, yeah I’ll be uploading all my inserts on PS3Blog so you guys can have a chuckle @ me trying to be cool and acting like a towel.

Glad you digg the site, always cool to have another loyal visitor!!! Funnily enough although it’s a SA site, my fellow American visitors trump all other countries in terms of numbers/visitors. So it’s great to see more South Africans gettting involved.

I tried using the feedback thing to make a suggestion, and it keeps telling me to login? I did vote though.

Wicked thnx Spider!!! Yeah you have to register on the feedback forums to leave a suggestion but voting you don’t need to.

The votes are awesome coz it gives us an idea of what to start next, which ones are more important.
