Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures Review

by Claudio Cecchi (Freak_c)

OK so you thinking its a game for the kids and family right? Well I don’t think so, I would say it’s a game for anyone. Yes I am a Lego fan. Yes I am a Indy fan and yes I played the previous Lego Star Wars games and YES I thoroughly enjoyed them. I mean come on Lego (Awesome) and Indiana Jones (Awesome) put together for you to play is to me well awesome. On to the review then.

The Story and Gameplay:
Well the story follows the first three original movies, Raider of the lost ark, Temple of doom and The last Crusade. The gameplay is pretty much what you would expect from a Lego game, which is great fun. It is similar to the Star Wars games as that you will always control two characters which have different abilities and weaknesses, which you will need in order to complete the puzzles. Such as Indy who has a phobia of snakes and if you get to close he sunders in fear and female characters who can jump higher. You are able to switch between the characters easily. Some of the puzzles were a little difficult and took a little longer to figure out, but that was dew to sometimes not seeing the pieces of lego you needed to build something as they were in the corner.

A buddy can pick up a second controller and jump in as the second character which makes it more fun, both of you start barking orders at each other. There is some replay value as there are treasures and hidden items around all the levels that you collect but some of them are in places that certain characters only can get to that you will unlock as you play through the game, then you can replay the level in free play mode and select the characters you want to play with.

Graphics and Sound:
Well the graphics are bright and colurful as you would expect, as Lego are. Nothing to show off with but you still get a smile on your face when you see the Lego characters running around and really coming to life. and the environments are well designed.

The sound again I am still currently only using my TV speakers, but that will change this weekend, Oh YEAH! Ok so the sound of the game is nice a great use of lego sounds (building lego items, breaking legos blocks, etc), the score of the game is almost a direct copy of the movies, which is great as it gets you in the mode.

Conclusion 7.5:

Lets see this game is fun, great and just plain awesome. It’s not a kids game its a everyone game. I mean playing as Lego Indiana Jones thats just great. This game as the previous lego games pulls it off nicely and is really enjoyable. I cannot wait for Lego Batman.

Big thank you to Megarom for supplying the game to review.
